Forbes: Cincinnati ranks among nation's top 5 'Most Affordable Cities'

CINCINNATI -- Consider yourself lucky. At least, that's what Forbes is telling all Cincinnatians.

Forbes just tapped Cincinnati as one of its Most Affordable Cities in 2015 . Of the 20 cities listed as the nation's "most affordable," Cincinnati didn't just make the cut. It made the top five.

Using housing affordability data from the Housing Opportunity Index, combined with cost of living figures and the Consumer Price Index, Cincinnati ranked highest of all nine Midwest cities included in the list, finishing at No. 5.

Call center’s 682 jobs is Hamilton’s biggest jobs win in decade

A business services company’s plan to open a call center with 682 jobs here poses a triple threat to the city’s economic recovery. Not only does it add hundreds of new jobs, but the call center would also fill empty space and help boost Hamilton’s downtown revitalization efforts.

AK Steel to build $36M research facility in Middletown

WEST CHESTER TWP. —
Middletown’s largest employer, AK Steel, announced Monday that it will build a new $36 million research and innovation center in the city.

The new 120,000-square-foot center will replace the company’s existing research facility that is also located in Middletown. The new center will be constructed on a 15-acre site located in the Cincinnati-Dayton growth corridor along Interstate 75, according to the company.

Butler County Unemployment Level Continues to Drop

The unemployment rate of Butler County fell to 4.3 in May 2015. This decline from 5.1 a year ago is due to job growth in the county.

Health network makes $12M in building purchases in Butler County

HAMILTON —

The Kettering Health Network has recently closed on $12.2 million in building acquisitions across Butler County.

The Dayton-based hospital system operating Fort Hamilton Hospital will expand its cardiology and orthopedic service lines through the purchase of two buildings in Hamilton, as well as gain six family practice physicians and a large medical complex in Ross Twp.

Cincinnati among 10 best places to turn a home into a rental

Some people looking to move are opting to rent out their homes as opposed to selling.

Though doing so could be perilous, renting out a house could be profitable in some markets, according to housing analytics company Zillow.

Zillow released a study Friday showing the 10 best markets to rent out a home for a short-term gain.
